Mary Ellen Copeland ist eine US-amerikanische Autorin, Pädagogin und Psychiatrie-Erfahrene; sie entwickelte den Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), einen zentralen betroffenenentwickelten Recovery-Ansatz.

Leben und Werk

Copeland entwickelte WRAP aus Erfahrungswissen von Menschen mit psychiatrischen Krisen und aus eigener Recovery-Praxis. In den 360/380-Texten wird WRAP als besonders konkretes Instrument beschrieben, weil es Alltag, Frühwarnzeichen, Krisenplan und Nachkrisenplan in ein persönliches Arbeitsbuch bringt (Copeland, 2015).

WRAP ist einer der wichtigsten methodischen Referenzpunkte des Recovery-Kompasses: alltagsnah, krisenorientiert, von Betroffenen her gedacht und sowohl peer- als auch fachkraftbegleitet nutzbar. Der Recovery-Kompass übernimmt WRAP nicht als Marke oder Zertifizierungsmodell, sondern entwickelt daraus mit anderen offenen Recovery-Planungswerkzeugen einen eigenen Arbeitsrahmen.
